We spent the following morning and part of the afternoon in the park, hiking to Delicate Arch, one of Utah’s icons featured on license plates, commemorative quarters, and most every tourist promotion magazine put out by the state. The hike to the arch was harder than remembered: climbing the slickrock sandstone was a challenge in the midday sun, but we made it and took a photo of Judy beneath to prove we were there. The climb down was nearly as challenging as the ascent, but the views were better.
